Skiing, freeriding and snowboarding for all you're worth. The variety never ends on the snow-blessed ski slopes of Obertauern. Sun worshippers find the conditions just perfect for sunshine skiing in the spring.

The extra-long winter in Obertauern is made for skiing. And, of course, for all the other adventures you might enjoy in the snow!

Cross-country skiing

An extensive 26-kilometre network of cross-country ski trails stretches between Obertauern, the Gnadenalm and Tweng. Five long trails lead you through the most beautiful natural sites in the fairy-tale winter landscape.

• The Hundsfeld trail: a sunny 6 km trail leads from the Obertauern Sports Centre through the protected area around the Hundsfeldmoor.
• The Twenger Au trail: the 23 kilometres to Tweng and Mauterndorf are demanding in terms of fitness and worth every metre…
• The Gnadenalm trail: a 13 km long high trail with fantastic panoramic views at 1,350 m above sea level. Skating & classic. The Gnadenalm even has a biathlon shooting range!
• The World Cup trail: 10 km, medium difficulty. The trail begins at the Zehnerkar gondola.

The Taurach trail: 13 delightful kilometres connect Untertauern and Radstadt.

Winter hikes & snowshoe excursions

Trudging through the glittering snow is, for many people, one of the loveliest experiences of winter. If you really can't get enough of the feeling, then Obertauern is just the place for you. You can reach mystical places that are rarely seen, on foot on a winter hike or snowshoe expedition. Perhaps you might even meet some of the local wildlife. Families, in particular, love the winter expeditions through nature!

At Hotel Enzian you can also borrow snowshoes for free! Every Monday at 4 p.m. we invite you to a free guided snowshoe hike to the Achenrainhütte (Gamsleiten)! At the top there is a schnapps as a reward for everyone! You can get more information at the hotel reception.

Horse-drawn sleigh rides in Obertauern

What could more wonderful than being snugly wrapped up in blankets in a carriage with your nearest and dearest and being taken through the snow-covered winter landscape of Obertauern? Anyone who wants to enjoy this once can do so every day between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
The tour takes about 1 hour and starts at the Gnadenalm and leads back to the Hintergnadenalm. The Gnadenalm is about 15 minutes by car from the Hotel Enzian.
We would be happy to book a taxi for you at reception.

Costs: € 90, - up to 5 people, each additional person € 18, - / children up to 3 years free, up to 10 years € 9, -

Tobogganing on the 6.5 km stretch from the Gnadenalm

Winter fun for the whole family: tobogganing is the perfect change in any winter holiday.
The toboggan run on the Gnadenalm is 1.5 km long. The natural toboggan run in Obertauern is floodlit every evening. You can enjoy tobogganing fun all day.
The toboggan run is open from 11 a.m. The varied route is a natural run and is groomed daily. You don't need to have your own sledge with you, of course there is also a toboggan rental on the Gnadenalm.
Gnadenalm is about 15 minutes by car (direction Radstadt) from the Hotel Enzian. We would be happy to book a taxi for you at the reception.
Costs: toboggan rental: € 7 per toboggan
Ascent: "Skidoo" snowmobile taxi or on foot
Toboggan taxi: € 5 per person and ride
