The Mankei Alm is the sunniest location in Obertauern - or so they say. The ski hut, owned by your hosts at the Enzian, the Veit family, is indeed a central attraction for those hungry for a little sunshine. It is also a popular meeting-place for fans of the après ski experience, good food and outstanding wines. It's lucky that the Mankei Alm is really quite close to the Hotel Enzian!
Seeking a sun terrace with a view – found!
Everyone who comes to the Mankei Alm for a bite to eat ends up sitting down to enjoy the experience. The most popular spot with our skiing clientele is the large sun terrace with seating for about 200 people. The terrace offers a view of the whole of Obertauern - from the town right up to the top of the ski area. The interior of the hut can hold around 100 guests.
Cuisine à la Enzian
Soak up the sun, the mountain views and a hearty snack or refreshing drink. What about a nice, warming consommé célestine, a meatloaf roll between meals or a tasty cheese dumpling? For dessert, why don't you try a yeast dumpling, scrambled pancakes or an apple strudel?
Many of the foods on offer have been prepared in the kitchens of the Enzian, and transported to the Alm fresh each day by snowmobile. You might want to try spaghetti with pumpkin seed pesto or our unique pulled pork burger!
No matter which tasty tidbit you select, you can be sure of a relaxing experience - food and drinks will be served directly to your table at the Mankei Alm.
Opening hours
End of November to end of April, daily from 11:00am to 6:00pm
Evenings at the hut. Every Monday and Thursday between 7:00 and 10:00pm, the Edelweiss lift is open for "night skiing". The perfect opportunity for an après ski session at the Mankei Alm!

Getting to the Mankei Alm
The Mankei Alm is a ski hut. This means you can only get to it on skis. The Plattenkar 8-seater heated chairlift, renovated in the summer of 2018, and the Angerbahn lift will get you there in comfort. For novice skiers, we recommend taking the Edelweiss lift up the mountain. From the mountain station, it is only 200 metres to the hut.
From the Mankei Alm, you can ski down to the centre of Obertauern on the blue or red slope number 3a. The slope taxi is available for groups of 20 people. The total cost of a return journey is € 100.00.

At the Mankei Alm, hut manager Zvonimir Antunovic, known affectionately to his regulars as "Soki", pays personal attention to your well-being - and he's been doing so since 1987. Alongside long-time bar manager Waltraud and service expert Luzia, the friendly Mankei team will give you the authentic ski hut experience.
